Prof. Monica Kuo is the chair & dean of Environmental Planning & Design College, Dept. of Landscape Architecture, Chinese Culture University. She is also the honorable president of Chinese Taiwan Landscape Architects Society (CTLAS) and the winner of Outstanding Achievement on Landscape Planning for Tung-Yuan Award, Taiwan.

After received the MLA from U. of Penn., she started her professional practice in Philly. Then she returned to Chinese Taiwan joining the first frontier task, working on the survey and planning of six National Parks in Chinese Taiwan. Following the public services, she was invited as the chair of the Dept. of Landscape Architecture in C.C.U. Since then, with her great interest and passion on research, practicing and teaching, she devoted most of her effort on the promotion of the status of Landscape Architects as well as wide range of Eco-Urbanism, Wetland Protection, Coastal Zone Management, Public Arts and Nature Conservation in Chinese Taiwan.

Prof. Kuo is one of the few scholars persistently dedicated in the wide spectrum of public policies on the environmental protection, landscape education as well as nature and culture conservation.

After graduating with a Bachelor of Architecture and Master of Landscape Architecture, Damian began practice in 2004 as a landscape architect in National Parks Board. He was introduced into Singapore Institute of Landscape Architects (SILA) in the same year and was elected into Council in 2006. He was elected as SILA President in 2009 and served for 6 years before being conferred Fellow membership in recognition of his outstanding contributions and service to the profession. Damian was elected as IFLA Asia Pacific region president in 2015 and subsequently received IFLA Asia Pacific region highest honour of The President’s Award conferred by then President Mr Takano Fumiaki.

During the voluntary call of duty, Damian has led pro bono mission trips to Timor Leste to design and build sustainable farms for the poor, provided villages with clean water and taught children English in their local schools. Even in his local church, he has served and led as church camp commander and organised several milestone events for the people. His exposure in these voluntary services ranged from policy formulation, governance advisory, planning, design, implementation, training to getting his hands dirty farming on the ground and cleaning rotten wounds of poor villagers.

In 2020, Damian was conferred The Public Administration (Silver) Medal by the President, Republic of Singapore, for the greening and administrative efforts served in the public service. He is now serving as a District Councillor in the Central Singapore Community Development Council and voluneteering himself in the local Resident”s Network. He is currently in the running for IFLA Presidential election.
