| IFLA APR organised our first Talk & Share session on 25 March, featuring Mike Barthelmeh, who was the chair of IFLA APR EAA, and Monica Kuo, IFLA APR President, sharing on the planning of the certification program.

| Park City, Garden of Dream |
| The Design Competition for 2022 Chengdu Park City International Garden Season and the 5th BFU International Garden-Making Week was launched in January. It encourages competitors to design and build a “Dream Garden” embedded with the charm of plants and nature on a limited plot of land with bamboos and flowers as the main materials.
16 finalists were selected on 27 March, and these finalist gardens will be built on-site by the teams in Chengdu Botanical Garden in July 2022. |

| Climate Change and the Garden City |
| Dr Matthew Bradbury (Associate Professor in the School of Architecture, UNITEC, New Zealand and programme leader of the Masters of Landscape Architecture) highlights the implications of climate change on contemporary urban design, and suggest the model of a garden city with effective examples from history. |

Dr. Sridevi Rao (Hon. President, Indian Society of Landscape Architects) shares the effectiveness of use of traditional tools and resources for sustainable design and highlights the need for documentation and a resource centre to share such knowledge. |

| IFLA World Congress Gwangju 2022 |
| Registration period has been extended!
The 58th IFLA World Congress, themed Re:Public Landscape, will be held in Gwangju, Korea from Aug 31 - Sep 2 2022.
The congress aims to reclaim public leadership in landscape architecture as we re:visit professional and academic achievements to date, re:shape the earth through emerging discourse and technologies, re:vive everyday lives to healthier and more vibrant ways, and finally re:connect to nature.
Early-bird registrations end 31 May. Registrations end 30 June. |
